About our Staff

The Positive Place is governed by a Board of Trustees, all volunteers.  The Positive Place benefits greatly from the time and energy of many skilled volunteers.  At present, there are over 80 people actively involved in supporting The Positive Place as volunteers, and we would like to thank them here for their continuing commitment to the organisation.

The Positive Place is run on a day-to-day basis by the following staff team:

Anthony

Anthony
Emotional and Peer Support Worker (ext: 207)  

Anthony supports peer support groups across south London as well as  targeted spaces including Gay Men's space and Black MSM Group.

David

David
Services Lead Delivery & Development (ext: 205)  

David is assessing service user needs, and designing and delivering a range of skills development programmes.  David supports and manages peer support groups and targeted spaces.

Evelyn

Evelyn
Outreach Mentoring Coordinator (ext: 204)

Evelyn is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting Outreach Mentoring volunteers with The Positive Place.  Evelyn also coordinates the Volunteer Therapy Scheme offered by PP.

Penelope

Penelope
Lay Led Self Management Network Coordinator (ext:202)

Penelope is responsible for establishing and developing the support network of voluntary and not for profit organisations delivering self management courses across England.

Peter

Peter
Project Coordinator (ext: 201)

Peter has responsibility for the day-to-day management  and liases with other service providers.

Valerie

Val
Emotional and Peer Support Worker (ext: 206)

Val has responsibility for the African Caribbean community peer support groups and facilitates the Tuesday Open Group with David.

Before joining our Peer Support Team, Val spent many many years as a childcare worker in crèche’s, nurseries and schools working with children with special needs. Her role was supporting Parents with their children’s social physical, emotional and educational needs Val also taught the children Phonics and behaviour management. If you need any advice about your child’s educational needs or behavioural problems please feel free to ask her. Most importantly Val is a big Manchester United fan.
